Russell’s Picture Readings Enchant Carolina Audience
J Townsend Russell's fusion of reading art and music captivated Pinehurst at The Carolina Music hall in a benefit for the Chapel Fund. One hundred fifty color illustrations accompanied a masterful interpretation blending poetry, story and Shakespearean echoes, drawing a large crowd and netting nearly one hundred fifty dollars. Guests from Boston and New York attended the Carolina event and tea.
