Travis Scores Sixty Eight In Two Moles Golf Round

Walter J. Travis tied the course record with a sixty eight at Garden City, matching Alexander Ross’s mark. The famed golfer shot forty three on the front and twenty five on the back, with three birdies on the thirteenth fourteenth and fifteenth, and had putts lip out on several holes.

Miss Fownes Wins Putting in Silver Fails Tuesday

Miss Mary Fownes led a putting competition with a score of twenty two while Mrs J P Gardner was second at twenty three and Mrs William West third at twenty four. Mrs Rodger scored twenty six and Mrs Real followed with a lower placing in the event.

Thirty-one couples contested the Annual Mixed Foursomes, led by Irving S. Robeson of Rochester and Mrs. Herbert L. Jillson of Worcester with a gross 84 and net 76. Second went to C. C. Davis and Miss Houseman after 79, with Pushee and Dunne next on 82. tied for sixth at 86 were several pairs including Brown and West, Shannon and Shannon, Fownes and King, and Hurd and Metcalf.
