St Valentine Golf Tourney Opens With Large Entry
Busy February inaugurates the winter golf circuit led by the seventh annual St Valentine contest from February 7 to 11. Expect at least 150 entrants across six regular divisions plus two special divisions with gold medals for top qualifiers and cups for match play winners. Women’s fifth annual St Valentine tourney follows February 15 to 18. Also scheduled: men’s singles tennis and weekly handicap trap shooting contests.
Midwinter tennis finals highlight Boston and Tarboro players
Irving C. Wright of Boston meets Henry Bridgers of Tarboro in the finals of the first Midwinter tennis tournament with The Outlook going to press. In the women's event Mrs. C. F. Wager of Lancaster and Mrs. KR King of New Canaan compete, while the men's doubles pairings feature Wright with Bissell and Bridgers with Gardner.
