Carter Dominates Pinehurst Final In Unbeatable Form
The thirteenth annual midwinter golf tournament at Pinehurst ran January 4–8 with broad skill levels and varied weather. Philip V. G. Carter, Nassau, won first prize in the first division after a string of steady rounds, beating C. E. Manson of Framingham 3 and 1 in the final. Carter’s rounds included a 73 in qualifying and a 78 in the final, with rain and cold shaping the later play.
