LAGOO Silver Foll Event At Mire Worth Details
On Wednesday February 3 twenty three Silver Folls Club members took charge of Number One Course to set a distance record. Mrs Edward Worth of Media Pa planted her flag three strokes beyond the third green to win. Mrs H H Van Cleef placed second after winning the prior day’s putting contest. Nearing the haven on the fairway Mrs H M Ingersoll of St Catherines and Mrs Guy Metcalf of Agawam Hunt trailed by one stroke. Miss Priscilla Beall Uniontown exhausted her drive at the twentieth tee. The crowd gathered around the 19th hole as many cards turned in strong shows for the 18 holes. Dorothy Campbell Hurd tally 88 with a 41 on the front nine. Elinor Gates turned 92 with 49 and 43. The chart lists many participants and scores, and village interest grows in reversing the result. The event’s program also previews horse races and a mule race with various purses and trotting events. The village plans include anile dash for saddle horses, a half mile, trotters and pacers, Pinehurst Steeple Chase, and other purses.
