Pinehurst Field Trials Open With Membership Stake Lead to Derby
The fifth annual Pinehurst Field Trials began with the Membership Stake led by Harry D. Kirkover as judge. Kirk's Main Side Beau won, Kirk's Ashantee Dominant second, and Pinehurst Bill third. Several dogs and handlers are named, with tight notes on Find quality and course conditions. The Derby followed, with eighteen dogs advancing to the second series and final placements listed for Great Island Undaunted, Boatwright's Bimpkins Jack, and Deep River Molly. Weather affected the next day’s plan, and the Free-for-All judges paused to decide based on prior performances.
