Pinehurst social week features golf match and dances
Pinehurst residents enjoy a high class Christmas Week with a major amateur pro golf match at the Chestnut course, gymkhana races, lemon hunts, fox hunts and equestrian picnics. Notable social events include tea dances at the Country Club and a large Christmas Eve dance and supper at the same venue. The scene includes visiting Justices from New York, Hurd and Parker families, and prize wins by Miss Lida Leonard in rifle and Miss Evelyn P Spencer in looping the loop.
