Christmas Races at Pinehurst Jockey Club Delight Crowds

Four ponies with four daring riders thundered from rail to wire as old Glory waved above the finish. Miss Mabel Bliss and Miss Esther Tufts led the Cottage colony ladies purse field in a brisk hurdle race, with Molly O and Melos among the top finishers. Johnson and Lee staged sharp performances as the day built to the Pinehurst track’s highlights including the 2.14 pace and 2.15 trot heats featuring Kinderloy and Rosalie.

Tin Whistle Four Ball Medal Round yields tight finish

In the Tin Whistle Club four ball medal, Dunlap and Gregg posted a net 162 over the Number 2 course, with Magoon and Phillips close behind after strong scores. Gregg’s 75 tied for best net, but Dunlap captured the day’s best net with 78 after a playoff ruling over Magoon and Phillips.
