An Inauguration event features a new International Golf Tournament for advertising men open to advertising specialists from newspapers, publications, firms, or corporations. Play runs Monday and Tuesday January 9 and 10 with handicaps eliminated. Players will qualify in groups of eight by scores to win one of sixteen prizes.
A historical program from January 9 92 outlines qualifying round rules for eighteen holes medal play with bronze medals for the top eight and a gold prize for the lowest score. It lists sponsors Leonard Tufts Frank Presbrey and William C Freeman, medals for the eight lowest scores, and two trophies for winning and defeated fours in each eight. The entry rules designate advertisers and solicitors as qualifiers. Semi finals and finals are set for January 10 with prizes from Golfers Magazine Chicago.
