Night Reception Showcases Wealth of Handicraft Goods
The formal opening of the Handicraft Shop and Bazaar Tuesday evening drew about two hundred guests. The studio-like display featured rugs, North Carolina Indian and Mexican pottery, brass and copper pieces, Russian wood carving, opus pictum plaster reliefs, pyrography, feather fans, handwoven bed spreads, embroidery, and numerous souvenirs. The event honored local artisans while guests enjoyed punch, music by The Holly Inn orchestra, and a wish to make the opening a regular feature.
