The Holly Inn is a popular Pinehurst hotel for January to May with 200 guests, expanded lobby, private bath rooms, steam heating, open fires, and social spaces including a music room Dutch room billiard room. Manager C Abbe notes continued excellent cuisine and service.
The Pinehurst School and youth colony promote lifelong vigor with private tutoring and music lessons by Carl Behr of The Carolina Orchestra. Headmaster Philip L. Lightbourn leads a modern program from kindergarten to college prep, emphasizing teachers over books and outdoor healthful recreation.
Col. W. C. Jones of Jackson Springs, noted cotton man, visited The Pine Crest Inn and advised buyers to lock in long positions. He believes that as soon as planting acreage declines next season, prices will surge toward normal levels.
Resident Minister and Mrs. T A Cheatham are welcomed back and regular services in the Village Chapel resume on November first. The schedule plans for usual Catholic services.
