Travis Captures United North and South Golf Crown
Walter J. Travis dominates the tenth Annual United North and South Amateur Championship, winning through qualification and match play with remarkable consistency. In the 36 hole final he defeats W. R. Tuckerman of Chevy Chase, 2 and 1, after a tense, swung match played before a large gallery, with Travis piling up a brilliant 73 in the closing rounds.
