Aviation pupil Roland K Middleton, under Mr Lincoln Beachey at the Curtiss school, shows remarkable progress with several splendid preliminary flights. Beachey expects him ready for a diploma soon, drawing on Middleton’s racing car experience for engine mastery and calm, quick thinking. He will tour with Beachey for now before attempting to fly solo with a new Curtiss model.
Commander Saito and Mr and Mrs Beachey were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs H B Emery at The Carolina on Tuesday evening.
