Dr L Lee Harban of the Columbia Golf Club Washington defeats Fred Herreshot of New York by one up in a thirty-six hole final to capture the fifth annual United North and South Amateur Championship. Becker defeats Baldwin 13 up and 12 to play in consolation as Harban rallies from two down in morning play.
