The Kay reunion at D. L. Kay's home drew about seventy five relatives and friends who shared food and photos by Gaillard and Johnson. Mr. Kay, 71, and Mrs. Kay, 73, welcomed guests. he has nine children, forty seven grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. Also reported: Rev. Charlie Atkinson’s meetings at Pleasant Hill and Camp Creek churches added sixty five new members with fifty eight baptized on Sunday. Six Mile Academy Opens With Bright Prospects
Six Mile Baptist academy began a new session on September 28 with unusually bright prospects. A large crowd attended opening day and heard a fine address by Dr. O. O. Mletcher of Furman University. Nearly 109 students enrolled. The faculty includes Prof. J. J. Willis as principal, Prof. Ed. M. Snow as assistant, Miss Rose Rhymes in the primary department, and Miss Jeanette Bolt as music teacher.

James Campbell of Masley died suddenly at home on July 29 and was buried at Corinth church the next day after a funeral led by Rev. Mr. Howard. He leaves a wife and seven children from Piedmont, Tolly Furman Beulah Beedy Milton Belton and Mamie. The obituary notes his devotion to family and faith.

Two Killed By Train Near Liberty
Miss Mamie Lucile Davis twenty of Liberty died Sunday afternoon after being struck by Southern passenger train No 38 near Liberty. Charles Stillwell of Columbia was fatally injured and Miss Bernice Parsons eighteen of Liberty was lightly hurt. The three were part of a Liberty group strolling on the tracks when they moved to let a southbound freight pass and were hit by northbound No 88. Davis body sent to Ramseur McAfee Co and then to Greenville for burial. Stillwell died Monday morning in Greenville Hospital. Parsons expected to be released. Davis was to enter Greenville Woman's College. Funeral for Davis held at Reedy River church.
