Thanksgiving in Plymouth 1623 Pilgrim Feast with Rain

On last Saturday night Mr and Mrs Waddy Stewart hosted an enjoyable pound supper with all attending expressing thanks for their kindness. Twelve Mile school opens Monday the 25th with Prof H A Towns as teacher. Rev W C Seaborn preached his first Mt Grove appointment, welcomed by the community. Prof R C Burts of Greenville spent Friday night with the Cheathams. H W Wilkins of Greenville visited the Bensons last week. Miss Virgil Sellers, a Greenville Female College student, toured here. The Ergatakin Club met at Mrs Anderson’s home for needlework and treats. The Philosophian Literary Society held its fifth annual meeting with a notable debate on immigration. The M E Church hosted an oyster supper for its fund. Col R H Smith of Greenville lectured on America from ocean to ocean to aid Confederate monument funds. Roy Smith and Miss Julian married by Rev E V Babb. W D Spearman plans to move to Easley and W D Sitton returns from Greenville. The Farmers and Merchants club closed, selling its furniture.

Wedding of Sam Huff and Meda Lee at Liberty

In Liberty on the 20th at 12:30 p.m. Mr. Sam B. Huff wed Miss Meda Lee Hunt in a brief ceremony by Rev. D Hiatt. Huff, a Greenville farmer and son of the late P D Huff, and Miss Hunt, a Liberty teacher, depart for Atlanta that night and plan to settle near St Albans in Greenville county. Funeral services for Mr. Singleton, a Pickens native, will be held at Nazareth M E church with Masonic honors.
