On October 26 death claimed Mrs Sarah Neighbors at age 64. She joined Cross Roads Baptist church about 35 years ago and moved to Peters Creek where she remained a member. her remains were laid to rest the day after her death. She leaves a brother Jack Neighbors and three children Samuel Jack and Mrs Elbert Raines among relatives and friends. Regular church services were held by Rev W C Seaborn at Ooleney last weekend. Local visitations and past week social notes include James Cox, Edward Hicks, Mrs W R Hicks, Mrs W M Jones, Miss Leila Jones, H L Jones, Casey Porter and others.

Mrs Harriett Griffin wife of Capt James Griffin died at her home near Hagood s school house after a several months illness She was 67 and is survived by her husband two children Ed Griffin and Mrs Will Bruce four sisters and one brother The funeral was conducted by Rev Mr Corder at Hagood burying ground The deceased was a longtime Baptist and respected member of the community.

Death of Mrs. Louisa Looper at Cross Roads
Mrs. Louisa Looper wife of Furman Looper died at her home near Cross Roads church on the 9th after a lingering typhoid illness. She was 31, daughter of J. B. Finley, sister of W. E. Finley, leaving a husband, a son, and extended family. Remains laid to rest at Cross Roads church cemetery with many mourners. She was a devout Cross Roads Baptist member and a trusted community figure.
