Man dies after thirsting for drink on Atlanta street
A brick mason named George Williams collapsed on Piedmont avenue near Decatur street and died on the sidewalk. Witnesses say excessive drinking and a recent fine for vagrancy contributed to his deteriorating condition. He had been in and out of work, and a bar patron supplied him with a drink shortly before his death. Coroner's inquest attributed the death to heart failure brought on by heavy drinking. Williams left family in Georgia and had ties to Fairburn and Lalapooosa.
