Tremendous demonstrations honor both gubernatorial candidates in Charleston with Judge Jones favored over Gov. Blease by locals. Police kept order as questions on prohibition and racing sparked lively exchanges. Blease defends his Stothart ties and attacks Jones over divorce and press.
Clemson College announces an intensive one year agricultural course for young farmers starting October 1 and ending June 1. Open to men 18 and over, it covers crop production, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairying, and simple arithmetic and bookkeeping. Public speaking to enable leadership is included.

He was buried with Masonic honors.
Citizens gathered at Pelzer school campus to condemn a fee raise by local physicians. For 25 years charges were 50 cents for day visits and 75 cents for night calls, but July 1 the schedule doubled. Captain Smythe warned physicians to revert within a week or risk eviction of their homes for other doctors.
Old Bill Miner the train robber and his gang were captured at Toomsheye Georgia this morning after escaping Milledgeville prison last week.
The Agriculture Department released the July acreage estimate showing 3,067,000 acres planted to cotton, down from 36,681,000 last year. Crop condition on June 25 was 58.4 percent of normal, below last year and below the ten year average.
Greenville July 3 The Chicora college is expected to move to Laurens if Laurens provides an acceptable site and 75000 toward a new plant, with removal to be recommended to South Carolina’s controlling presbyteries.

Dispatches recount the Democratic National Convention in Baltimore nominating Woodrow Wilson for president and Thomas R. Marshall for vice president.
