Good Negro Woman These Times Remember Mary Mansell
A memorial notice honors Mary Ie Mansell known as Aunt Mary who died December 19 1917 near Davisville after months of illness. She and her husband Frank Mansell built a freed farm and lived thriftily earning the respect of white and Black neighbors. Interment was at Shoal Creek cemetery with many in attendance, praising her character and community ties.

Mrs Emily Williams wife of Jerry Williams died Sunday afternoon after several weeks illness at their home between Liberty and Wasley. She was a member of Smiths Grave church and lay in rest at the cemetery after funeral service by Rev D Woollcott.
