Pickens graded school will open Monday morning September 2 with a full corps of teachers. Principal is Prof H T McKinney of Donalds, Citadel graduate with nine years of experience. Staff includes Miss Matthews Spartanburg high school Inez Crump Morris Mauldin Bell Yongue and more, schoolhouse refurbished, coal on hand, and opening exercises urged for all school age children.
