One Hundred Nineteen Bushels Of Corn On One Acre
A Michigan Farmer correspondent describes a method yielding one hundred nineteen bushels of corn per acre on meadow land. After ploughing and manuring, ridges formed, corn planted in drills two rows per ridge, about ten inches apart. A severe drought reduced yields but still produced the claimed amount. labor matched three acres typical yield. Additional notes mention Mount Vernon burial proposals and Siamese twins death reports being contradicted.
