Democratic Club endorses presidential ticket and platform
A 1868 meeting of the Georgia Crook Democratic Club adopted a preamble favoring the Democratic nominees for President and Vice President, calling for unity to defeat the Republican ticket. Delegates were empowered to solicit speakers, arrange meetings, and publish the proceedings, while a tax note from Washington outlined fruit distillers’ excise obligations under new law.
