In a Mesa City letter dated October 21 1882 A F Macaponaro advocates the Central Ferry as the shortest and best crossing to St George and Silver Reef Utah. He describes routes via Prescott Sandy and Wallapai Valley to Patterson's Well and Pusning Creek, praising the ferry run by Mr Harrison Penrre as safe and reliable and noting better stock transport and shorter distance compared with Mineral Park and Stone's at Rin Virgin mouth. He also mentions correspondence with the firm Wooley Sand & of St George for route information.

Castle Creek region seeks a road to Phoenix, with $1,000 pledged to improve the route toward Bradshaw mountains and the central Arizona mining heart.
