Br. Louis Taly 23 reports the national silver organization assembled late at Grand Musio Hall with insufficient spectators. J J Mots called the meeting to order after noon, as flags draped the hall and delegates cheered while Miss Lillie B. Pierce read the Declaration of Independence. A 12:30 p m opening and a 4:30 p m adjournment were noted, with committees appointed to liaise with Populists and discuss organization and resolutions. A city council special session followed addressing street cleaning, crosswalks, fire alarm, street sprinkler advertising rights, and funeral notice postings.
