Prisoner Here Broods While Troubles Brew

Harvey Alexander, 36, sat in county jail brooding over his crash with a deputy sheriff and an illegal brew found downstairs in the sheriff’s office. Six gallons of cloudy yellow liquid and about 15 gallons in a large jar were discovered, with olives or prunes floating in fermentation. Alexander’s arrest followed a raid on his East Buchanan Street home for liquor possession and sale. Deputy Heffelfinger's car crash linked to the case revealed Alexander’s alias Henry Thomas, tied to a Seattle bond evasion on a charged assault with intent to kill. Washington authorities to be asked about extradition.
