Arizona GI Training Program Hit by VA School Order
Arizona veterans enrolled under the GI Bill face widespread disruption as 75 percent of state training schools will close under a Veterans Administration interpretation of a 1945 act. About 80 to 90 of 119 accredited Arizona schools, mostly small welding and flying programs, may lose eligibility. on the job training will be exempt. The 25 student threshold and one year operation rule will force many institutions to shut, likely requiring veterans to travel long distances for remaining programs.
