Five Dead and Fourteen Injured in Thanksgiving State Accidents
Five people were killed and at least 14 injured in Arizona traffic crashes during Thanksgiving. A Wickenburg man died from burns early today after two men perished in a head on collision near Morristown. A sedan overturned near Flagstaff killed two others. Victims named include Charles Scott, 29, of Wickenburg. Fred Ferguson, 61, of Wittman. and Paul Blasdall, 22, of Frewsburg New York.

Widow Slain Fixing Thanksgiving Dinner in Martinez
A handyman Clarence Shotswell 44 was jailed in Contra Costa County after a Thanksgiving dinner on Bethel Isle in the San Joaquin River left widow Hilda Clark 58 dead from two bullets. A guest was wounded and Shotswell wounded himself by a self-inflicted gunshot to the forehead as he fled after threatening to wipe out the party.

Accidents in Grand Canyon Area Scene of Fatal Crash
Virginia Lloyd and Joseph Pino, both from the Grand Canyon area, were passengers in a sedan driven by John Curley of the same area when control was lost at about 50 mph. Henry Santana’s car collided with Ferguson’s, with Ferguson’s trailer of beehives triggering a gasoline explosion that burned Scott, who died in Wickenburg hospital. Several others were wounded. two doctors and nearby residents aided the injured as flames rose. Mrs. Roy Proudlove was injured in a separate two car crash at Seventh Street and Thomas Road.

Plot to spring killer fails at Cook County jail
