Ohio State senior Jack T. McKeeown 23 of Norwood, editor of the Ohio State Lantern, was shot by fraternity brother James D. Heer 20 of Euclid after a homecoming party at Delta Tau Delta. Heer admitted the shooting saying he became trigger happy when drunk. McKeeown died on the fraternity lawn after attempting to disarm Heer. Heer later sought police at the sewage disposal plant and phoned patrol, stating he had killed a man.
