Kenny White, a Phoenix youngster, survived a severe meningococcal infection with no after effects. Health authorities say such recovery in his age group is extremely rare. The boy's family credits prayers and expert hospital care amid rapid weight loss and blood infection.
Senator Carl T. Curtis of Nebraska says an FBI report discrediting a key witness in the Bobby Baker investigation was a phony. He blames the printing and release on efforts to sway public opinion that Don Reynolds was wrong in every instance. Reynolds, an insurance agent, alleged payoffs sex parties and other claims related to Baker's activities while a Senate aide and a shift from direct U S development loans to multilateral lending.
Moscow accuses the United States of planned aggression in Viet Nam signaling an expanded war. In Saigon, February casualties show 870 U S killed 1 820 wounded 1 450 missing with 43 combat deaths and Viet Cong losses around 2 065 as air strikes hit North Viet Nam.
