Evangeline Lorimer, 21, a Cincinnati hospital nurse, was found alive in a canyon near Chilhowell Mountain after 13 days of fasting and sleeping outdoors in the Great Smoky Mountains. She walked out to Abram's Creek ranger station and was taken to Broady Hospital for rest, stating she planned to return to work next Monday.

TOKYO June 22 AP. U S Army enlisted reservists in Far East Command excluding critic ally-needed specialists will be released before November 30. Phoenix police later located a 1951 Studebaker reported stolen by Kimball, found at 127 Van Buren after being tagged for overtime parking. The stolen car had Arizona tag A-74035, issued for a 1949 Studebaker Kimball traded in Feb 3 last year.
