A head-on collision five miles south of Mankato Minnesota killed 63 year old Arthur Schussler of St Paul and injured seven others. An Omaha railroad mail passenger train No 10 collided with freight No 17 due to an order mix up on a single track. Three passenger cars derailed as six leading freight cars smashed along the right of way.

British Sub Affray Wreckage Found in English Channel
The British submarine Affray, missing with 75 sailors since April 16, has been located in the English Channel about 50 miles southwest of the Isle of Wight in 200 feet of water. It was found in Hard Deep, northwest of Cherbourg, after a sustained search.

Fume-Filled Tank Costs Lives Of Two
A sulfur and lime tanker at Agriform Company of Arizona on 19th Avenue turned deadly after two men entered the tank to rescue a colleague. A. C. Thrasher and William Kanawyer died from gas fumes. Kanawyer had entered to clean the tank before a second load. Gene Olde recovered the bodies and required oxygen after entering the tank with a gas mask. An inquest is planned later this week.
