Scottsdale Trains Six New Officers
Six new Scottsdale police officers began a 30 day training course chosen from 200 applicants. They will patrol in about a month after classroom and riding assignments with veteran observers. Officers are James Solem Michael Cheney Don Nystrom Lanny Royer Charles Bolado and Ray Elies. Nystrom previously worked seven years in North Chicago Illinois. Solem is a senior at Arizona State University. Examinations for five more patrol jobs will be held for the 1965 66 fiscal year starting June 1. Patrolmen start at 440 a month rising to 576 after about four years.
