Inventory Order Nullified in Van Ness Divorce Case
The Arizona Supreme Court blocked Maricopa County Superior Court from forcing C. E. Van Ness to inventory his private property in his divorce action with La Venda. The court said the lower court can review separate property during trial but cannot compel a public inventory. The couple's community property is claimed near one million dollars, with Van Ness asserting most assets are his separate property. Justice Eva De Concini stated the inventory cannot be filed for public view.
