Glenn Oil Officials Resign and Turn In Records
Two Glenn Oil Company officials resigned today and handed to the Arizona Corporation Commission the stock selling permit the company seal and its books and records. E W Duhame and G E Dunbar announced their resignations at a hearing before the commission accusing unidentified persons of harassing the firm and saying they would not appear tomorrow for continuance of the case. The company faced a commission order to appear after the state board found assets did not equal liabilities endangering stockholders. Ironside said the company had only 17 cash as of December 1948 and that someone aims to take control. The hearing was continued to 10 a m tomorrow for attorneys to study the resignation statement. The firm organized December 1947 to explore Paradise Valley northeast of Phoenix. its first drilling in 1948 struck granite at 3000 feet. A second well was started northwest of the first. drilling halted due to the commission's investigation. Ironside claimed harassment and possible control attempt, while Attorney General Wilson signaled the case would proceed.

First television theft reported in Phoenix area
Detectives George Van Doren and Charles Heyser recovered a $215 television from a boxcar behind 22 East Jackson Street as officers checked boxcars for vagrants.
