Dr Huether Named Director Of Arizona Crippled Children
Dr A L Huether named director of the Arizona Crippled Children's program by the State Welfare Board after rejecting a federal proposal to shift responsibility for crippled Indian children to Arizona. James Lytton-Smith moves to advisory role. Huether previously chief surgeon at Shriner s Hospital unit in Salt Lake City and brings long service in orthopedics. The board cites funding constraints as reason to reject added Indian children on rolls, noting Arizona's $50,000 federal and $150,000 state annual support.
