Cameron was picked up about 25 miles north of Salem on the Pacific highway near Woodburn after hitchhiking. he offered no resistance and spoke little. Police warned the men are very dangerous and continued search efforts.

A dormitory fire at the University of Oklahoma in Norman killed at least three students and injured 19, two critically. The two story wood building, built in 1941 as a Navy barracks, suffered about 500000 in damage.
