VFW Urges U S Warning To Russians
In New York on August 30 1950 the Veterans of Foreign Wars urged the United States to issue an ultimatum to the Soviet Union and its satellites and to demand more troops from allies for Korea and other fronts. The 52nd annual encampment adopted the resolution declaring another Korea would be considered an act of war. Senator Joseph R McCarthy was slated to respond to an attack aimed at him after Tobin spoke. A remark about pressure cookers noted their gauge shows excess pressure, not internal pressure.
