Tired Toddler Found After 17 Mile Forest Wander
Laura Lynn Briggs, missing since yesterday noon, was found exhausted but unharmed in Coconino National Forest about 30 miles northwest of Flagstaff near A-1 Mountain. More than 300 searchers aided by Melvin McCormick and Deputy Rice located her after a long trek of roughly 17 miles. She told doctors she was not sick as she was escorted to Flagstaff Hospital. her face showed injuries from burned trees in the search area. The Briggs family had moved from Phoenix six weeks prior. Laura Lynn had last been seen near their home in Fort Valley Road vicinity.
