A merchant portrait and recurring gags about Breakfast Food jokes are described. The Commercial Traveler caricatures a patron, ceasing prune peddling, and now caricatures presidential candidates in a big daily. The merchant travels by road, riffing on freight trains, and has his picture in the paper.

Exhibit Lost In Transit To State Fair

The Stanley county exhibit, sent by freight to Turon for the state fair, never reached its consignee. Rail officials have no explanation, and it is likely sidetracked somewhere along the line. The display comprised blue ribbon harvest festival winners and its loss dampens local efforts, sparking questions about railroad accountability and damages to Philip Land & Cattle Co.
