Ross Sale Immense Success at West River Auction

Haakon county residents rallied to a Red Cross auction in Philip despite a April snowstorm. The event on Center Avenue moved to Oak Street selling items from baby carriages to ladies wear, aided by the Philip High School Glee Club and the local band. The sale netted nearly 7800 dollars, a record for South Dakota west of the Missouri River, with Haakon county's 17 Red Cross branches planning future drives.
