Minerva's Lesson in a Southern Nursery Tale
A fragment from a Civil War era style children’s chapter follows Billy and Jimmy as they spar over Miss Minerva’s strict moral lessons, play with a hose, chase dolls, and plot a comic raid on their aunts hen house. Conversations reveal rival suitors, a Confederate veteran Major, and the boys’ stubborn, mischievous natures amid rural plantation life.
