Benedicts Fall Short as Shepard Guilty in Forgery Case

In Sturgis circuit court Art Shepard admitted forgery and was sentenced to one year in the penitentiary while Roy Shepard was found guilty of shooting with intent to murder and Will Shepard faced trial for horse stealing. The forger used Milo Anderson’s name to forge an $80 clock, with 6W. Smedley pushing charges. Several related forgeries were reported but settled without action.
