Gasoline and blasting led to the death of Grover, a well contractor and homesteader near Grindstone, after a blast trapped him with gas. Despite a cautious rescue, he fell to the bottom, likely killed instantly, and his body was recovered Sunday. He leaves a wife, two daughters, a mother, and three brothers and a sister. Interment was at Cottonwood. The report also notes a quiet wedding in Rapid City for Freda Morrison and Cole Start, both teachers in Rapid City schools, who plan a visit to Manhattan, Kansas after the ceremony.
