Richmond Va Aug 29 Dr Miles B Jones wife and Miss Viola Lucas were in an automobile wreck on the way to Petersburg the car turned over flinging them out Medical attendants assisted them and the party returned home by train bearing bruises and tears
Atlantic City reports a packed week with church crowds and a series of concerts. Dr C A Tindley preached at Asbury M E Church on crucifixion with a generous collection led by Bishop Caldwell. Troubadours entertained at the Poole Cottage and other visitors from Philadelphia and Baltimore joined local residents for weekend events.
Funeral services were held for Richard L Eights at the home of Mr and Mrs in a family ceremony. The obituary notes indicate the ceremony took place at the residence prior to a church service.
Everett J. Waring, renowned trial attorney and Ohio native, died at his Philadelphia residence 2327 Catharine Street on Wednesday September 2 after a pneumonia illness. Born in Springfield, Ohio fifty six years ago he built a notable practice in Columbus Baltimore and Philadelphia. He was regarded as a leading figure in the ParaValervices at the house.
Isaac Fisher, a Tuskegee Institute graduate formerly of Vicksburg Mississippi, wins Eve ry Magazine September 1914 First Prize for the best letter on Rum and Remedies. The judges praise his logical, well argued discourse and note his pride as a Black American scholar with a long record of competitions and achievements.
Major Morton and his party conducted a statewide tour under August auspices visiting Roanoke Lexington Clifton Forge Covington Staunton Waynesville Millwood among others. Meetings drew large audiences of both white and colored residents with local committees and city officers in attendance.
Bordentown N J August 28 attendance at the Seventeenth Annual Commencement of the Ironsides Manual Training and Industrial School for Colored Youth drew Gov Fielder and party plus State Board members. Students demonstrated skills in dressmaking plastering poultry cake and farming as diplomas were awarded by Commissioner Carris amid cheers from a large audience.
The TA Shipp Post American Veterans of Foreign Wars carnival in Philadelphia on August 13 14 and 15 drew many notables including Miss Anna May among the attendees.

Mrs. Mary Davis Coots died after a long illness on Wednesday morning. She will be buried today at 12 o clock from her home at 712 South 18th Street. A native of the city, her survivors include two daughters three sons and a sister.

While on a visit to Atlantic City last week Bishop G L Blackwell was seized by a chill and grew seriously ill. He was transported to Philadelphia to Douglas Hospital where doctors report improvement expected and say he will pull through.
Mr and Mrs Theo N Hilton of Darby returned home after a week visiting relatives and friends their friends gave them a hearty welcome Mrs Louisa McNeill of 41 Forrester avenue Darby Pa spent the week end Atlantic City as guest of her daughters
Rev. George Banister from Pitawater Street and associate were said to have solicited money for a church without authority at City Hall. The arrest followed complaints about unauthorized fundraising practices.
