Louisvile Chronicle recalls William Monroe Trotter, Boston Guardian editor and leading advocate for equal rights, visiting Louisville twelve years earlier. The 1908 Afro American Council meeting sparked tension as critics warned the council risked becoming Booker T. Washington aligned, with debate over higher education for the race and the inclusion of Dr. Price's portrait on the rostrum.

In North Philadelphia on March 23 a revival sermon by Dr Handy drew strong praise and many testimonies. The report covers memorials for the Thaddeus Stevens Lodge, choir selections, eulogies for deceased members, cradle roll and beginner teachers, illness news, new home for the Griffins, sympathy for Mr Hubbard, and notes on the Zoar church fifteenth anniversary activities and Easter service plans.
In Miami on March 21 Reverend William Alfred killed a woman and then shot himself. The rector had been bound over to the court under a $2,000 bond days earlier.
The Rev. Richard Bright, linked with Archdeacon Phillips, preached at leading white churches in New York from March 7 to 14. His appointments included St. Thomas 5th Ave, Old Trinity Broadway, Wall Street, St Mary Th St An, and the Virgin. In some places he preached during regular hours, in others at special services.
Isaac J Powell longtime Elks leader and founder of the O V Catto Ellis Band died at his Addison Street home after a lingering illness. Funeral at the Elks Home on South Street with Rev A R Robinson officiating. Interment at Eden Cemetery. Powell leaves a widow two sisters two nephews and many relatives and friends.
The Macedonia Rogues Church on Jackson Street Cape May hosted a full morning and evening service with Rev Matthews presiding. New local minister Charles T Ferguson delivered a well received sermon drawing many visitors including Dr E A Draper Miss Powell Miss Miller Prof F Ventisen Dr Venock Bailey and Rev Mrs P F Matthews. The church choir attracted attention for its spirited singing and a guest from Philadelphia joined the afternoon sermon at ill Street M E Church.
Pittsburgh police detained Walter Foster also known as Davis and Williams after a six week swindling spree. Operatives Geo Cole and R H Robinson arrested him at the central station. Foster lured women to a false job at Mrs Proctor then billed them for a costume and promised a railroad job, collecting five to twenty dollars each.
Eleven men sentenced to death will be electrocuted at the Arkansas penitentiary in Little Rock. The plan calls for three executions this month, with seven of the condemned men identified as colored. The executions follow the legislature's failure to abolish capital punishment and Governor Hayes's stance on delaying execution.

Chicago reports Ebenzer Baptist Church feeding hundreds of white and colored men left unemployed by European conflict. Through church effort, meals are served weekly, with 3,752 colored and white men fed in a year. Rev. Thomas, the pastor, preaches to the men at each meal.
