Howard University moves to appoint Dr A B Jackson as professor of Health and Hygiene at Howard University Medical School while removing Dr William C McNeil as secretary of the Medical College. McNeil’s salary drops from 3000 to 1200 and a new public health professorship at 3500 is created for Jackson, prompting faculty and alumni protests.
The Mosaic Templars of America, known as the Million Dollar Fraternity, closed its quadrennial convention in Little Rock Arkansas. Some 2,500 delegates attended and 10,000 visitors were drawn to the meeting. The event featured the re election of J. standard bearer as National Grand Master and upheld a law to keep the headquarters in place. A mass address honored founder John E Bush and reflected on his life.
