Physician’s Quarrel Ends in Fatal Shooting
In Muskogee Oklahoma on July 16 J M Davis a 48 year old race physician was shot in his Carter building office by E T Butler another race doctor. Three shots were fired with two hitting Davis injuring his arm and abdomen. Butler fled by buggy and was arrested later near his farm six miles north of town.

French Speaking Negroes Battalion Aimed For Front
George Doyle, ex-president of the Colored Pastors' Union and Red Cross figure, travels to Washington to secure authority to organize a battalion of French speaking Negroes above draft age for front line service.
