The Emancipation Exposition rooms stay lively as a $75,000 appropriation is signed by the Governor. A broad committee from diverse states coordinates with the twenty one Commission and various church groups to exhibit religious and civic work.
The Guards returned home from a week at West Town Pennsylvania under Capt. D. R. Lewis. A Sunday sermon at Shiloh A M E Church followed a successful novelty concert for the church. Major H. Thomas visited, a 2:30 review preceded a 3:00 sham battle and a 4:30 14 to 2 ballgame against West Chester. The brigade leaves for home in good health with special sermons planned and high praise from the West Chester Dailies.
Mr P a florist purchased a car. Marionee returned from West Chester State Normal school for summer vacation at her mother's Swan Street home. Robert Allen of Market Street spending the week in Philadelphia. Mrs J A Browne Mrs Annie M Thorpe of Harrington Delaware with Rev George Fisher dined with LeRoy Allen Bridgewater. Annie M flea of Harrington spending a week with Rev and Mrs J A Browne and Mr and Mrs aaoites of Wood Street in New York City. Lon Nelson of Ereeves Pa was a Bristol visitor last Sunday.

Furlong for a July 17 1913 reunion at Faneuil Hall Boston marking the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Fort Wagner. All colored Civil War veterans are invited especially survivors of the 65 4th and other Massachusetts Colored Regiments.

The Merion Cemetery Company board at their June 19 meeting discharged Wm A Lewis after eight years as superintendent and announced he is no longer officially connected with the firm. A steamboat excursion down the Delaware is planned to Burlington Island Park. Sunday afternoon a dinner was given by Irene Terrell in honor of her father John A. Mitchell Sr who turned 77. He was born July 6 1836 in Lynchburg Va and moved to the city in 1837 where he has lived ever since. He served as a U S Army valet in 1862 and later enlisted in the U S Navy as Landsman serving 14 months aboard battleship under Admiral Farragut. He is a member of several local fraternal and religious organizations and is noted as one of the citys oldest agents for the Tribune with a long career in law and public life. He resides with his wife and children at Lombard Street along with five grandchildren.
At 1305 Rodman Street Philadelphia on July 3 1913 a claimant reports receiving a $100 death claim from the National Ideal Benefit Society Richmond VA through Philadelphia representative Lewis Thompson. The message thanks Supreme Master A W Holmes and Supreme Secretary S W Johnson for the prompt settlement.
