Preacher Without a Church Arrested for Theft
Charles De Witt Davis a black preacher from Eleventh Street near South was arrested by Special Policeman Keohane at apen and Ilet Streets on Saturday night after Mrs Laura Geri of 2025 Race St identified him as the intruder packing jewelry and toilet articles from her bedroom last Thursday morning. The Night Court heard the claim from Mrs Geri and her mother Mrs Maria who said they held the man, but police did not respond to the call and he escaped.

Fist Fight Erupts Between Two Capitol Committee Members
Washington January 20. Chairman Ben Johnson of the House District Committee and lawyer John Shields fought in the District Committee room ending with threats of gun play. Johnson’s face was bruised Shields jaw struck. Shields defended a bill to let policemen and firefighters ride free on District street cars. Both combatants stood over six feet tall and weighed more than 180 pounds.

Man Shoots Man Then Becomes Friends After Quarrel
The final chapter of a quarrel led to a shooting of Thomas colored at 1629 Stiles Bt Arch and 8th above Zils. Clark and Bussey, foremen on a building project at 22nd and Arch, clashed. Clark was shot in the abdomen and taken to Medico Chirurgical Hospital where he recovered. Bussey surrendered to police and aided in the injured man’s care.
